The current website (michiganscouting.org) was originally launched in 2018, so it was time for a facelift. Most of the content remains the same (though a LOT of old content was removed), but the look and feel and the organization have been tweaked. You’ll notice better search results (results which will include Events as well as pages) and multiple ways to find your resources depending on your role in Scouting (Parent, Volunteer, etc.). In addition, an attempt was made to make this new site more mobile friendly.
Fact: There were 535 active pages and 466 blog posts on the old website, many of them filled with great content, but a lot that were outdated. We’ve narrowed that down to 274 pages and 142 posts. Still a lot of great information, but hopefully easier to find now.
Notable changes:
- “I AM…” at the top will list the top resources per role (Parent, Volunteer, Youth, Alumni/Donor, and Commissioner)
- “I WANT TO..” on the home page below the photo slider will show the most asked questions. This list will change periodically with the program year.
- Menus have been reorganized to group like resources together.
- Site Map (located in top bar of page and footer) will include all pages on the site
- Footer also contains quick links
- Old content removed to make searching easier
- Search results include activities on the Event Calendar
- Website feedback form — located in the footer and on the Contact Us page. Allows you to request changes to the website.

Using the Menus
Is the new site perfect? Nope. Will it take some time to find your way around? Yup. We used your feedback to design this new site, but the site is a continual evolution (yea, big words), and we hope to get feedback from YOU on how to keep making it better.
Thank you for all you do for Scouting.
