Peter Shaheen is the vice president of Shaheen Development, a family-owned, community-based real estate development company that owns and manages more than two million square feet of residential, mixed-use, and commercial real estate in the Great Lakes Bay Region. For more than five decades, Shaheen Developmentā€™s focus has been to enrich our communities by creating places for living, working, leisure, and healthcare. Award-winning developments in each of the regionā€™s communities ā€“ Saginawā€™s Riverview Brownstones, Uptown Bay City, and the H Residence in Midland ā€“ are a few examples of the companyā€™s positive impact. Peter is also the president of HORIZONS Conference Center, Saginawā€™s award-winning, full-service event center dedicated to creating memorable community, business and social events for more than 25 years. The HORIZONS family of businesses includes Saginawā€™s PĆ¢tisserie and Michigan Cream & Sugar Ice Cream Company in Bay City.

Peter is a dual graduate of the University of Notre Dame, with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masterā€™s in Business Administration. He is current chair of the Saginaw County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance, and Nouvel Catholic Central board. He is also a founding board member of both the Great Lakes Bay Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau and the St. Gerard Society, and serves on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of the Great Lakes Bay Region and Tri-Star Trust Bank. Peter also co-chaired the ā€œBay Future: Drive. Forward.ā€ campaign and is a past president of the Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra. Peter is married to Kari Shaheen, and they have four children.
