Are you a Troop, Crew or Ship planning a trip — not associated with camp — within Michigan that is longer than 96 hours? You will want to read about the State of Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) regulations regarding travel licenses. All units taking part in their own trip within Michigan will be required to apply for a Troop Travel license. More information can be found on our LARA – Unit Travel FAQ site found linked below.

Does this affect out of state units coming to MI for that same time period?
Hi, Heather.
Great question. Yes, this policy applies to any unit, no matter the “home location”, that plans to be in Michigan. Out-of-state units would need this license.
Thanks!
